European XBox Live Street Fighter 2 HDR

This is my favourite fighting game of all-time, and I run occasional online tournaments for those on XBox Live in Europe.

The main reason I do this is to give some kind of long-term incentive structure to those within Europe who are unlucky enough to not be able to get to any real offline tournaments, like Vs Fighting and Super Vs Battle in the UK, and Stunfest in France. It’s also because, although the game has an excellent ranking system, it’s ranked mode of play is flawed because it does not match based on ping times – which is especially annoying for those in Europe when most of the player base is in America, and because it does not ban the broken character Akuma (aka Gouki, Demon), or disallow cheating such as turbo button functions – so it can be a very frustrating experience to play.

Obviously in a game designed for offline play nothing can replace true tournaments, but online play does have some benefits, and my goal is always to take advantage of that and help to foster a good online community for SF2 HDR as much as I can do.

I encourage any player of SF2 HDR in Europe who is interested to get in touch with my via this website or through XBox Live.
